Mailchimp Integration Setup and Configuration
Connect Mailchimp to RapidStart CRM, enable the synchronization flows you need, and assign integration access.
What the Integration Does
The RapidStart Mailchimp Integration brings Mailchimp audiences, members, segments, tags, and marketing activity into RapidStart CRM. It also supports adding CRM Contacts to a Mailchimp audience and cleaning up corresponding data when a Contact is deleted.
Before You Begin
- RapidStart CRM installed in a Microsoft Dataverse environment.
- A Mailchimp account with permission to create or use an API key.
- A licensed Dataverse user or service account for the Mailchimp and Dataverse connections.
- Permission to configure connection references, cloud flows, and security roles.
1. Install the Integration
Open the RapidStart Mailchimp Integration listing in Microsoft Marketplace, select Get it now, and install it in the same Dataverse environment as RapidStart CRM.
2. Create a Mailchimp API Key
In Mailchimp, open your profile and go to Account & billing > Extras > API keys. Create a key if needed and keep it available while you configure the connector connection. A Mailchimp key commonly ends with the data-center suffix, such as -us21.
3. Complete the Setup Wizard
Open RapidStart Settings, select Apps & Add-ons, and choose Configure for the Mailchimp Integration.
Configure Connections
Configure and assign the RapidStart Mailchimp Connector and Microsoft Dataverse connection references to the licensed user or service account that will run the integration. Enter the Mailchimp API key when the Mailchimp connector connection requests it.
Turn On Flows
Enable the integration flows required by your organization. The wizard lists:
- Add Contact to Mailchimp Audience
- Deleted Contact Cleanup Flow
- Import Audience Members from Mailchimp
- Import Contact Marketing Activity
- Import Mailchimp Audiences
- Import MailChimp Segments and Tags
Assign Security Roles
- Assign RapidStart Admin to administrators who manage the integration.
- Assign RapidStart Marketing to users who manage campaigns and audiences.
4. Perform the Initial Import
For a first-time setup, import the parent records before dependent data. Start with Import Mailchimp Audiences, then run Import Audience Members from Mailchimp. After the Contacts are available, run Import Contact Marketing Activity and the segments-and-tags import as needed.
5. Verify the Setup
- Confirm that both connection references are configured and each enabled flow is on.
- Run Import Mailchimp Audiences and verify that the expected audiences appear in RapidStart CRM.
- Import audience members and confirm that the expected Contact records are linked or created.
- Test adding a suitable Contact to a Mailchimp audience and review the flow run history.
Setup complete
The Mailchimp Integration is ready when its connector and Dataverse connections, selected flows, security roles, and initial imports are complete.
